Sakinah Home for Girls 

Sakina Home and Education Center for Girls is a transformative project undertaken by the Muslimahs for Change Foundation. The project aims to provide a loving home and quality education to young orphan girls in Kenya. With several years of dedication, the foundation has been working tirelessly to create a positive impact in the lives of these vulnerable girls.

IQRA (School Supplies Project)

The IQRA School Supplies Project is an initiative aimed at providing essential school supplies to underprivileged school children in Africa. This project seeks to address the critical lack of educational resources that hinders the learning and development of countless young minds across the continent.

Ruby Campaign

(Reproduction Health and Education, Period Poverty): The inability to afford menstrual hygiene products is a prevalent issue in Africa, affecting millions of women and girls. This lack of access to essential menstrual supplies leads to a range of negative consequences, including; School absenteeism, Health risks, and Social stigma.  The Ruby campaign aims to address period poverty and promote sexual reproductive health in Africa by Increasing access to menstrual hygiene products, Empowering women and girls, Promoting gender equality and Strengthening healthcare systems.

Annual Leadership Summit for Girls (USA)

For the past seven years, our Annual Changemaker summit has been making a significant impact in the lives of young girls ages 12- 16. We host the summit each year, inviting stellar speakers who inspire and motivate the girls to reach for their dreams. Through the involvement of world-renowned speakers, we have created an environment that ignites inspiration and encourages these girls to envision a future where they can make a difference.

AfriGirl Conference 

The AfriGirl 2023 Conference takes place in-person annually on October 11th to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child. The conference brings together over 500 girls from all walks of life to be empowered and ready to go on to make a difference in their respective communities and beyond.   Set to be one of the largest conferences for African girls and young women, the AfriGirl conference is co-created by the AKAYA Foundation and Muslimahs For Change Foundation, with the support of youth as well as various governing bodies and our sponsors.
